President Humphries and Riflemen Keating and Jbnes were to have completed their firing in the New Plymouth Defence Rifle Club's championship serieß of matches yesterday, ~ Owing, to stress of weather, however, they*had to abandon shooting after finishing firing at the 900 yds. range. As this was the last I day, the'-competition Has in consequence been declared Rifleman Winslade f thus holds the club's Championship shield for the ensuing month, with an aggregate of 442 points. Next in order come: Evans 435, Bruce 433, Nichols 421, Oliver 421, Blanchard 401, J. F. Hill 392, Marett 387. In the B class the honors were carried off by H. E. Hill, with 412 points.
