SOUTH AFRICA.
THE BOTHA-HERTZOG CONTROVERSY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 30, 11.50 p.m. Capetown, April 30. Mr. Ureswell's motion of no-confidence in the Government was rejected by 08 to 41. General Hertzog bitterly accused General Botha of duplicity, the misrepresentation of facts, and subverting and abandoning his party. General Botha, in a dignified and impassioned exhaustive reply, declined to put the country to the expense and inconvenience of a general election merely because General Hertzog desired to reenter office.
