CARDS.
ANNUAL MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the New Plymouth Cards Association was held at the Central Fire Brigade Station on Monday. The fourth annual report congratulated members on a successful year. Although fewer clubs took part in the competition, still the interest shown and the standard of play were quite equal to those in previous years. The ehampionsliip fell to the newly-formed St. Aubyn Club, who annexed the Hayden Champion Aggregate Shield, the Tisch Cribbage Shield, and were beaten only in the play-off by Avenue Road for i the Malone Euchre Shield. There was a credit balance of £2 10s. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—President, Mr. G. W. Browne; Messrs. F. Richards, E. Whittle, H. Gilbert, R. Cock, H. Okey, M.P., F. C. J. Bellringer, W. C. Weston, J. Smith, J. Hayden and E. King; hon. auditor, Mr. A. Lee; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. T. Hood. It was decided that nominations for the competitions close on May 10. The nomination fee was fixed at 10s per team. | The next meeting of delegates to the association will be held on May 12 to arrange the opening of the season and to decide the fixtures. Mr. E. Whittle gave notice of motion: "That the system of scoring be changed from that of games to tables." It was made a recommendation to the incoming committee to notify the competing teams that during the coming season the final hand must he nlaved out. r /
