J.lie Rugby League's report states that an endeavour was made to induce the English Northern Union to send a team to Australia and New Zealand in the coming season, but the pa rent body, while not in a position to do so, is likeiy to view the proposal more favourably aiext year. The report states that the progress of the game in New Zealand is steady. The annual report showed that the receipts of the team which toured Australia last vear were £1250 3s Id, and the expenditure £1032 lis 3d. The leage commenced the season with a credit balance of £55 7» fld and finished with a credit of £303 10s 2d. The assets include: Loans to Auckland £44 7s. 4d, Nelson £OO, Hawke's Bay £6O ss, Wanganui £SO, Wellington £125 Is/ Canterbury £IOO. The receipts for the leading matches during the year were: Auckland v. New Zealand £OO, profit £OB 10s; Auckland v. New South Wales, £440, profit £117; New Zealand v. New South Wales, receipts £O7l, profit £B7. '
