At the Police Court, Ernie Hansen ; sued Michael Leonard, a cab-driver, for 451, balance of money which plaintiff had handed to defendant when they started out on a week's "joy ride" in the country. It was admitted that Hansen hud .CHI when they started, and that 1 ' he gave .-£75 to tlie cab-driver to taku care of. The cab-driver asserted that beyond his charges for conveyance tho whole of the money was spent by plain> tiff, hotel visits playing a prominent part in the story. Cab-drivers hi"' great power in their hands when dealing with drunken people, and only thoroughly, trustworthy men should be licensed. It would be his duty to report the matter to the authorities. Both parties werjfli equally responsible for the affair, which was egually disgraceful to both. DeI fendant was not entitled to more than i proper and reasonable expenses, including J board and lodging, from plaintiff. He j was not inclined to give him credit for J more than legitimate expenses incurred. *■ He would reserve judgment.
