THE GISBORXE VISIT.

Gisborne, Monday. The battleship arrived at 7 o'clock yesterday morning. Captain Halscy was formally welcomed by the -Mayor.' During the afternoon a thousand people cruised round the vessel in harbor steamers, but there was too much swell to permit of visitors being taken aboard. There were heavy rain squalls during the evening, and the warship went to sea, but returned this morning. The weather is calm, and large numbers are visiting her to-day. The Maoris danced hakas of welcome. The New Zealand sails for Auckland at 3 p.m.
