I FOUND DROWNED. ) Per Press Association. Auckland, Saturday. The body found in the harbor on April 1 has been pretty conclusively proved to be that of a man named Alexander Glendenning, 37 years of age, an educated man from Home, who had been employed on a farm at Cabbage Bay and disappeared months ago. DEATH OF A CARTER. Dannevirke, Saturday. James Smith, a laborer, at Kiritaki, was found dead in a paddock this morning. He was engaged in carting firewood. His horse had evidently bolted. An inquest will be held. THREE INQUESTS. Wellington, Saturday. Three inquests were held to-day. A verdict of death due to heart disease was returned in the cases of Harry Williams and ■Tohn'Kimmins. In the ease of the negro, Alfred Britis, who died in gaol while serving six months for slygrog selling, the evidence showed that deceased was far gone in consumption, which was the chief cause of death. FATAL BURNING ACCIDENT. Dunedin, Last Night. A fatal, burning.accident occurred at Balclutha early this morning. A' man named Littlcwood, about 25 years of age, and a carpenter ;by trade, was burned to death, while his wife was seriously injured and is still lying unconscious. The particulars are meagre. The house and furniture were insured in the Queensland office for £llO.
