Matters moved some yesterday .morning, and when the hour arrived for clos-1 ing the nominations for the Borough ] Council election it was found that eleven i gentlemen had been nominated for nine seats', and four for two seats on the i Hospital Hoard. | Mr. W. I'. Kirkwood was re-elected | Mayor, unopposed. TIIK COUNCIL CANDIDATES. The candidates for the. Council are: Messrs. J. W. Boon, R. Dingle, X. J. King, T. Lawson, R. McK. Morison, J. H. Thompson,' 1\ Q. Arden, J. \V. 11. Fredric, J. Masters, J. 11. Iticliards and W. 11. 11. Young, of whom the lirst six were members of the, old Council. The nominations received since yesterday's list was published are given, with their nominators:— James William Ilolden Fredric. nominated by Charles llieks Speck and Campbell Jackson. X. J. King, nominated bv Ceorge h Smart and (leorge Burgess, Joseph Henry Thompson and James McAllister. Thomas Lawson, nominated by E. A. Alger ami D. liutehart, E. (J. Foster and C. D. Sole, R. 15. Anderson and .T. H, Childs, W. H. Cannon and John D. Ilealy. Jonas Masters, nominated by J. 11. Thompson and James .McAllister, James Fredrick and James McMillan. John llangliam Richards, nominated by Campbell Jackson and J. W. McMillan. Of the candidates who were not on the last Council, Messrs. Young and Masters are the only two having previous experience on the Council, ill'. Masters, of course, was Mayor for some years. HOSPITAL BOARD CANDIDATES. The following are the candidates for election to the Hospital Board: James McAllister, nominated by Jonas Masters and James Fredric. Robert McKinnoy Morison, nominated by fl. AY. Mills and S. B. Iluutcr, J. Staples and Campbell Jackson. Courtenav Dotson Sole, nominated by James Kredric and 11. 11. Kivell. Jo.seph Henry Thompson, nominated by Medial Casper Aagaard and W. 11. Robinson.

Mr. McAllister was ;i member of the I old Board. There are two vacancies to be filled.
