FATALITIES AT MATAWAI. By Telegraph--Press Association. Gisbornc, Friday. Charles Gome \v;is found dead in an outhouse at Mittawai last night. A carrier named Cameron was driving on the Matawai Road at midnight a dray containing a heavy load of timber. Hie dray capsized on Jiim, and it was two hours before his plight was discovered. His condition is serious. A FATAL AFFRAY. Auckland, Last Night. A fight took place this afternoon on the Harbor Hoard's pile-driving pontoon, and as a result Manuel Santos died from injuries received, and Harold Gladstone Browne is in custody, charged with wilful murder. The light was fierce, aecording to an eye-witness, and Santosfinished up in the water. He was resfcued, but died soon afterwards. Deceased was a native of Ladrone Islands, and was sm married man, 37 years of age. He leaves no family. ' • . FOUND DROWNED. ChriHtchurch, Last Night. The decomposed body of a. aged man was found in the riverbed at Eyreton to-day. It was evidentlv washed down by the last flood. "
