SUNK IN A COLLISION. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright. Sydney, April 15. Advices have been received that the steamer Briez IJuel, a well known Australian trader, has been sunk in a collision with the steamer Tempost in the Bristol Channel en route for Algiers, coal laden. The crew was saved. NORFOLK ISLAND. Sydney, April 15. It is stated that a complete reorganisation of the staff at Norfolk Island is intended. It is understood that Sir Gerald Strickland looks upon the island as a distinct Crown Colony, not sharing the view that he is administrator by reason of his being Governor of New South Wales, but that he is solely responsible to the Colonial Office, and that hp does not act with the advice of the New South Wales Executive Council. One reason advanced for the changes is the desire to curtail expenditure on the administration of the island.
