AX IMPORTANT JUDGMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. ! Dunedin, Last Night. Mr. 11. Y. gave judgment to-day in the ease of the Ihspec- : tor of Awards v. George Moody, in which £lO was claimed from defendant, in that ' from January 30th to March nth he did j employ two apprentices to two journeymen, such proportion of apprentices he- j ing greater than that stipulated by the award. The Magistrate said that defendant was carrying on business as a hairdresser at two places in Princes j street He was employing altogether ■ five journeymen, and two apprentices. , and the Question arose, whether defend- ; ant was restricted under the award to : a prescribed number of journeymen and apprentices at each place of business, or whether the award applied generally over both places. Since he had hern , considering the matter Mr. Hollows had sent him an authority bv the Arbitration , Court which was on all fours with this case. Tie held that shops were not to be treated separately under the award, and taking the two places together defendant had no more apprentices thf'n he weq entitled to. Judgment vould be for the defendant.
