THE MARCONI ENQUIRY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, April 14. Civing evidence before the Marconi Enquiry Committee, Mr. Godfrey Isaacs said tliat he had heard, through Mr. Hawkins and others, that Major Archer Bhee and Mr. Norton Griffiths, .M.P.'s, were associated with the Poulsen Syndicate in endeavoring to prevent the ratification of the Marconi contract. Major Archer Slice telegraphed to the committee denying that he had a financial interest in any wireless concern. Mr. Norton Griffiths, Unionist mem- , ,ber for Wednesbury, denies that he was ever interested in the Poulsen system or that lie spread rumors about Ministers or the contract. The whole story was pure invention. FURTHER EVIDENCE. Received 10, 12.15 a.m. London, April 15. Mr. Godfrey Isaacs, cross-examined, said that lie was unable to recall the names of the persons who told him the rumors regarding the Government. , Tie had not called them to Bufiis's attention. He only heard in October that Harry had sold Rutus American Marconis.
