TO VISIT NEW PLYMOUTH.
THE OFFICIAL ITINERARY.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Monday. Approval has been given by the naval authorities to the tentative programme of visits and itinerary round the coast formulated by the local officials for the Jfew Zoaland. The time-table is as follows:

Wellington, Monday. As a result of the wet weather to-day the outdoor arrangements for entertaining the officers and men of the New Zealand had to bo postponed. To-day Captain Halsey paid a return visit to the Mayor, councillors and members of the Harbor Board.
GOVERNOR'S MESSAGE TO THE
KING,
On Saturday, at the Prime Minister's request, His Excellency the Governor forwarded the following telegram to Bis Majesty the King: "On behalf of myself, my Government and the people of New' Zealand, I desire to tender our respectfill congratulations on the safe arrival in Wellington harbor of H.M.S. New Zealand. Liverpool." The following reply has been received: "I thank von, the Government and the people of New Zealand for your kind message, and congratulate .them on the safe arrival of their line ship.—George Rex."
LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS,
Wellington, Last Night. A communication was received at last night's meeting of the Council, from Mr. J. Clarke (secretary of the Recreation Sports Grounds Committee), asking that in_ making arrangement for the entertainment of officers and men of H.M.S. New Zealand during their stay in New Plymouth, one afternoon be allotted for the officers and men to attend a garden party to be held in the Recreation Sports Ground during their visit, the officers and men to be the guests of the • committee who would be running the i fete. It was intended to make a small charge to the general public to defray expenses, and the profits, if any, to be used for the improvement of the Sports Ground. 1
The proposed entertainment was favorably commented on fly the Mayor and councillors.
The date of the. departure of the ship from New Zealand cannot be altered Ihe date -of arrival at each place on the coast of New Zealand is necessarily now fixed. Where the visit is at a place where the ship cannot lie within the harbor, she will stay only if the weather permits her being tendered; otherwise she will leave to keep her date at the next place. It is desirable, therefore, that in all such eases arrangements be made on shore to see the ship pass in the owns.
