1 lie Centre carried a resolution against the \A ar Minister demanding an immediate reduction in the number of officers serving as personal adjutants to German sovereigns and princes.
The Reichstag has concluded a general debate on the Finance and Defence Bills. The Chancellor emphasised the great impression evoked throughout the eountrv by the patriotism of propertied classes, who were cheerfully bearing the whole burden of the levy of a milliard and also uj. wards of half of the recurring expenditure. Extraordinary sacrifices were needed to secure German's strength and peace. His warned the House against dallying with the idea of an Imperial marine tax, which would throw individual States and the whole system of taxation into confusion.
