Mr. Austen Chamberlain, speaking at Lincoln, said that when the Unionists regained power they intended to afford protection and security to Britain's own industries, without imposing new duties on the staple articles of food. London, April 13. Two suffragettes in the King's Way Theatre apostrophised Mr. Birrell, Chief Secretary for Ireland, who was seated in ■the stalls, on the absurdity of the "Cat .and Mouse" Bill. Two hundred suffragettes marched in
procession with black (lags, singing songs. The women marched past Holloway t Prison and cheered the suffragette prisoners.
MRS. PANKHURST'S HEALTH.
FURTHER OUTRAGES.
London, April 13.
Mrs. Pankhurst, who has been released on ticket-of-leavc for a limited period, has been conveyed to a nursing home. Friends describe her condition as very grave.
Suffragettes caused fires in the council schools at Gateshead, soaking the carpentry shop in paraffin. The fires were promptly extinguished.
INFLAMMATORY SPEECHES.
London, April 13. The suffragettes at Doncaster destroyed many letters in the Chief Post Office.
The Government is considering the piosecution of Mr. Lansbury for his speech inciting men to burn and destroy piqperty in aid of the snffragettcs.
