THE MAYORALTY

MR. J. E. "WILSON A CANDIDATE. , -Mr. J. E. Wilson, who at present holds office as a Borough Councillor, was asked by a representative deputation on Saturday morning to allow himself to be nominated for the Mayoralty. Stress was laid by the deputation on the fact that on account of the prospective large expenditure of loan money, it was absolutely necessary, if success was to be ensured, that the affairs of the town should be in able hands. They were quite convinced, it was pointed out, that Mr. Wilson would fill the position with entire satisfaction to the electors. Mr. Wilson, in replying, signified his willingness to allow himself to be nominated.
