GISBORNE TRAMWAYS.
STORAGE BATTERIES SUCCESSFUL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisbome, April 12. Mr. Yickerman, of the Public Works Department, held an inspection of the Edison storage battery cars of the Gisborne tramways (luring the week, and passed them as satisfactory. Mr. Vickorman stated that personally he considered the cars would be a success. The borough engineer states that the cars have proved better than he expected with regard to starting, run- i liing, and economy of power consumption.
