At Hawera on Wednesday, Patea defeated Manaia'by 81 games to 59. The result of the competition now is that Patea, Pihania and Hawera have tied for honors as fas as South Taranaki is concerned. In regard to the finals, Patea has drawn a bye, and Hawera and Piliama meet at Maiiaia this (Saturday) afternoon. Should Hawera beat Pihania, the Patea and Hawera clubs will play oft' on the Waverley green, if such will be convenient to the Waverley Club. In the event of Pihama winning;'' from Hawera, the Patea-Pihama match will be played on one of the neutral greens. The winner of the Xorthern end is the New Plymouth Club.
