FOOLHARDY .INDEPENDENCE. By Telegraph-- Press Association. Gore, Thursday. A public meeting held last night to consider the question of outside financial assistance was largely nttended . A 'number of acute cases of distress were reported and the action of the Council in not applying for outside aid was severely criticised in some qnarters.
