A BITTER TILL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Tuesday. The Manawatu and Wanganui slaughtermen's unions, in reply to their applications for registration, have, been informed by the department that their members might conveniently belong to the Wellington Slaughtermen's Union. NEW PLYMOUTH LABORERS' UNION. At the third half-vearlv meeting of the New Plymouth General Laborers' Unjon, which was held this week, the balance-sheet showed a credit of £7O 13s. The total membership of the union is 172. The agreements under the Arbitration Act and the Borough Council were reported to be working smoothly and to be giving satisfaction to both employer and employee. Officers were elected as follows for the ensuing halfyear:—President, Mr. J. Lynch; vicepresident, Mr, H. Whitinore; secretary, Mr. C. Ford; committee, Messrs. J. Moody, Robert Wilson, J. McPhcrson; treasurer, Mr. Hugh Wilson; trustees. .Messrs ,G .Martin and Tom Wilson.
