A WANGANUI BLAZE. QiS By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, Tuesday. A ten-roomed house, situated on St. John's Hill, owned and occupied by Edward Tingey, was totally destroyed 1 by lire at 2.30 a.m., together with the contents. The fire had a good hold when discovered, and the occupants, who escaped in their night clothes were unable to save anything. The insurances are: Building £750 in the Xcw Zealand Office, contents £4OO in the Commercial Office and £250 in the Norwich Office.

FIRE AT DANNKVIRKE, - —— *l~ ' f^. Dannevirke, Tuesday. A six-roomed lioixso owned by the bankrupt estate of John O'Connor, which is at present being administered by the Deputy-Official Assignee, was destroyed by fire at Umutaoroa on Sunday night. Mr. O'Connor and family were absent. His son on returning home from a Territorial parade found the place in flames. The building was insured for £l5O and furniture (handed back to the bankrupt by his creditors) for £IOO, in the Victoria Office. The origin of the fire is unknown If your property is not insured, call at or ring up the United Insurance Company, Ltd., Devon street; telephone 108. Webster Bros., district agents. Insurances effected on the most favorable terms.—Advt.
