AMERICAN TARIFF BILL.
BITTER CONTROVERSY PENDING. VESTED INTERESTS ORGANISING. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Washington, April 7. Developments in the tariff question indicate that a bitter controversy is pending. Business interests are crowding into Washington to lay their case before the Senate, claiming that 20 per cent, reduction in wages throughout the country would be inevitable if the programme were carried out. Dr. Wilson has decided to submit a single Bill, containing the whole revision scheme, despite strong opposition by Democratic Senators, who favor a sehedule-bv-schcdule revision.
