She encountered the full force of the storm. One heavy sea carried away all the mooring lines on the forecastle head. The German steamer Barenfels, which left Napier 1 over an hour before the Pakeha, Tias "not arrived. She was not seen by the Pakeha, wliich was kept well away from the coast all night. Several small coastal craft are reported to be sheltering along the coast. MONOWAT'S ROUGH TRIP. Napier. Last Night. The Monowai. whicii left Auckland on Saturday, had a very tempestuous trip •down tile coast. She was unable to work Gisborue, so came on to Napier, | arriving at 0 o'clock to-night. She leaves for Wellington at 0 o'clock to-morrow morning.
