Delegates were appointed tomcat the sheep-owners in conference. The question of the appointment 6f organisers was discussed at, length' and the matter was left in the hands of the executive. } This morning the conference approved of the following schedule of demands to be made on the employers, and it was resolved that a conference with the owners be held in Christchurch, if possible, aa soon as convenient.

SCHEDULE OF DEMANDS.J The employer is to have control, as per the present award. ) Hours of Work.—Work to commenceat 7.30 and cease at 5.30, with twa, halfhour intervals for "smoke-oh" ani onehour for dinner, and not more {than eight hours per day to be workld in any one day.-' Alhwork to'cease afctaoon on Saturday. |

HateS of Pay.—(4) Bate for shearing to be not less than 20s per 100 t>4 machine, and 22s 6d per 100 by bladeiL and found; (b) an allowance of |M gMr 100to be made for combs and cutfejs, Is per 100 for shears, and 2s per 100 for use of all combs over No. 1; (cf ratefor shearing rams, ram stags and double fleecers to bo double the ordinaryrates.

Disputes.—lf any question shall arise as to any matter not provided for by this agreement, snch question shall be settled by agreement between the par- ■ '" ticular employer concerned and the local' representatives of the union (that is, the shed representatives) appointed for that purpose, and in default of such* agreement the question shall be determined by. the Stipendiary Magistrateof the district in which the same shall have arisen. Pending the settlement of any such question, work shall go onus usual, and the settlement or decisionmay be made to operate retrospectively. ,
