IX CONFLUENCE. Ey Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington. Friday. The Institute of Local Government Engineers of Xew Zealand met hero today. The. animal report dealt mainly with routine matters connected with the formation of the institute. The council was instructed (o form a legislative committee, with power to take action in regard to legislation if necussary. Wellington. Last '.Night. The following ofliccrs were elected: President, S. Jickell; vice-presidents. S. A. K. Mnir and P. S. fiounthwaite; council, W .J. Roche, W. Ferguson, C. K. Bromner, K. J. Dillon. A. Patterson, E. •T. Armstrong, F. Pasliam. F. Williams C. Hunks, .0. JMaginness, A. H. }I. Wright and F. Shannon; treasurer, P. L. Harding: secretary. T. P. Wallace. In the afternoon several memhers read papers on subjects appertaining to engineering. Tt was decided to urge the fioyernment to assist m securing the representation of Xew Zealand at the internal ional Conference of Engineers to lie held in London in June next, when among other subjects road construction ■uid .maintenance will he discussed.
