"THE SIMPLE LIFE."By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, March 27. Chidley, of air costume and "The Answer" fame, has reappeared on the scene. He paraded the street during the holidays in abbreviated garb, selling his .hook. On Sunday he visited the Domain and took up a collection. The following Sunday lie announced that he would not take up a collection, because he would be imprisoned if he did so, but anyone wishing to assist him could send money to his house. For collecting without permission, Chidley was fined 5s and costs, with the alternative of 48 hours' imprisonment. SENTENCED TO DEATH. Sydney, March 27. Frederick William Adams was sentenced to death, with a strong recommendation to mercy, for feloniously wound- ■ ing Lilian Lambert, with intent to murder. [dAams had been devoted to his cousin, Mrs. Lambert, for some years, and | when she married he shot her.]
