LINER'S SUDDEN TRIP. By Telegraph —Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. Gales for some days have caused a high sea, and yesterday the fi.s. Ruahine, at the outer berth at the main wharf, (breaking a hawser, was taken out into the roadstead. The other steamers lay comfortably enough; The Ruahine's departure was sudden, and a number of Timaru people aboard, who were guests of the officers, were taken out and a number >of the crew left ashore. These had a bad night, being unable to secure sleeping quarters. j A DEPLENISHING SALE. Timaru, Last Night. 7 A deplenishing sale at Mount Nessing station (taken for closer settlement) was held yesterday. The sheep sale .was very successful, good prices being 'obtained all through. Many lines were { ■bought iby the new lessees. 1 SCARCITY OF PLOUGHMEN. I, Timaru, Last Night. { There is considerable complaint nearly \ all over the district of the scarcity of j ploughmen. Teams are idle because men 1 are not available.
