THE TERRITORIALS.
CIIRISTCHURCH MEN IX CAMP.
MARCHING AND ENTRAINING
By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The Territorials in cam]) at Yaldhuist were put through marching and entraining and detraining movements to-day. In the morning they marched in from camp and through the city; lunched at Hagley ' Park, and there marched to the railway station, where they entrained in two troop trains. They detrained at Hornby and marched back to Yaldhurst. The parade strengths were: Ist N.Z. Engineers, 5 officers, !)"< men; Signal Corps, 2 officers, 54 men; Ist Regiment, 24 officers, 406 men; 2nd Regiment, 1G officers, 450 men; 12th Regiment, 17 pfficers, 531 men; 13th Regiment, 22 officers, '451 men: No. 3 Field Ambulance, 10 officers, 71 men; and Headquarters Staff, 2 officers, 1 man. The march through the town was in every way impressive. The greatest interest was evinced on the part of the people, and the route from first to last must have been lined by many tliQUsafida. So keen were some that the aid } of taxis, cars and cabs was invoked, and tlie journey made down the route to catch the' first glimpse of the people's Territorials. The arrangements for entraining were most excellent, and there was no delay on lac station, without any bustle at all. The men were accotnj modated in their respective, carriages, and in case of the second division the \ time that elapsed from the time of the men marching on to the station to that when the train steamed out was only twenty-two minutes. This was very good for tlie first entrainment, and would 'be improved upon considerably on another occasion.
