The percentage system was discussed, and'a motion was carried recommending that in holding the next tournament the four top players should play off on the one-life-knock-ont system. ' At last night's session. Hilliker beat 'C'alderwond, one win and one draw, and he is now the sole survivor in the winner ! class. Calderwood goes into the losers. THE NORTH ISLAND TOURNAMENT,

The draughts tournament was completed last night, with the result that .T. Bruce scored a meritorious win with 20 points, D. Oi'bson being runner-up with 18 points.
