I With the exception of . tjie ■ Ladies' 1 Singles, the Wanganui Tennis Championships concluded to-day. The number of entries constituted a record and the class of play was the highest yet seen in Wanganui, many noted players taking part. The Men's Championship Singles went to Jennings, who beat Buttuiworth by 0-2, B—lo, (s—l. Mrs. Whitehead and Mrs. Pearce carried oil' the Ladies' Championship Doubles, and Dickie and Wallace defeated Buttei'worth and Jennings iii the final for the Men's Championship Doubles. Miss Cave and Miss P.rewater have to , play off in the final for t!:e Ladies' j Singles. | UNIVERSITY TOURNAMENT. 1 Wellington. Tuesday.

Ladies' Singles, second round—Miss Tennant (Victoria College) beat Miss Hunt (Otago), o—3;0 —3; Miss Miller (Canterbury) beat Miss Tomkins (Auckland) 9—2; Miss Tutton (Canterbury) heat Miss McLaughlin (Auckland) 9—2; Miss Cumming (Auckland) beat Miss Cooke (Victoria College) 9—o Combined Doubles—Miss Welsh and Hart (Otago) beat Miss McLaughlin and Campbell (Auckland) 3—o, o—l, o—4; Miss Cumming and Dutliie (Auckland) beat Miss Tennant and Cleghorn (Victoria College) fi —i, II —13, 7 —5.
