NEW ZEALAND CHEESE AT BRISTOL
The, first shipment of New Zealand cheese consigned to Bristol this season arrived there by the steamer Surrey at the end of January.- Mr. W. Wright (Dominion produce inspector) met the vessel, and, speaking to a British pressman, he said: "Our wish in New Zealand is to make our produce, suit our clients in all parts of this country. The extension of the dairy interest in New Zealand is proceeding very rapidly, and this year there will be quite a 20 per cent, increase in the output of cheese. The Surrey lias brought about. 2000 crates more than was brought on the first boat last year. Your dock accommodation' here is undoubtedly up-to-date, and from what 1 have seen cargoes are dealt with smartly." The cheese tasting and inspection went 011 for nearly an hour, after which 'Mr. Wright expressed himself -well pleased with the condition of the cheese, lie suggested, however (says tlie London correspondent of the Auckland Herald) that an alteration might be introduced into the wiring of the, crates, which would .pliable them to withstand tlie concussion created when slid from the ship to tlie wharf.
