The eighteenth annual conference of the Commercial Travellers' Association of Australasia openei! to-day. delegates being present from Xew South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, West Australia. Tasmania and. Xew Zealand (Duiiedin). Representatives from (lie Wellington and Auckland associations wire present, by invitation. The annual report stated that the total gain of membership of the alliliated as-ociafious during the var was 'WU, as asrainst :)(I7 last year. the surplus on the all'airstof the associations was £](>,- (>")!), after disbursing ,0)1140 in niortuarv benefits, relief for necessitous members and widows ran.! orphans and providing scholarships. The membership of (lie Xew Zealand Association was :S4L and the, total was ."i3:W. which, with 4JKID club members. made 10,2 IS. The report and balance-sheet were adopted, The report staled that the funds ol the Xew Zealand Association were now within reach of CI 1.000. The mortuary relief fund had shown good progress. and the permanent relief fund was in a healthy state. The question of excluding tubercular complaints from accident and sickness insurance was discussed. but it was decided to make no alteration at present.
