Clifton House, a two-storeyed wooden building of 22 rooms, occupied as a boarding-house l>v Mrs. P. Douglas, was practically demolished by lire yesterday. Very little of the contents were saved. The building, which was owned bv Xurse Taylor, of Eltliam, was insured, but the amount is not available. The furniture was insured for £2.">o in the Phoenix Office.
