-MINISTER'S STATEMENT. liv Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Thursday. Regarding the ease of the girl mentioned in the proceedings of the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, the Hon. Mr. Bell, Acting-Minister for Education, informed & Post reporter that proceedings had 'been taken according to the ordinary and regular course. The child is not with its relations or friends, but is boarded out with strangers by the Hospital and Charitable Aid Boanh Tt is believed, he added, that the child should be removed from her present surroundings and talcen charge of by the Government institution. ■ He had complete confidence in the responsible officers.
