At a mp.ctina! of the.District Committee of the Taramiki Jockey Club : the E«mont Kaeintr- G'lub'-s: .programme for May 14 and 15. was duly approved, as also were two "weight-for-age"' races, the Errmont Stakes of 400 sovs for horses t\vo-year-old and upwards at time of starting (six furlongs), and the,. Hawera Stakes of 400 sovs for horses three-year-old and upwards (one mile). The above two races are to be included iu the summer meeting programme. The following nominations to the District Committee were-received:— Egmont Racing Club. Messrs. R. H. Nolan and John Gray; Stratford Racing Club. Messrs. A. W. Budge and S. Pitt-' Opttnake Racing Club. Mr. G. W. Rogers. The Stratford Club also nominated Messrs. R. H. Nolan and A. W. Bu<ige as representatives to the conference..
The secretary (Mr. E. P.. Webster), reported that as the Auckland Racing Club had no objection, and,the. EgmoniRacing Club recommended, he bad renewed on probation F. L. Speakman's jockey's license until, July 31 next'. '.'
At a meeting of the committee held subsequently, the resignation of Mr. E. Elliott as a member of the, committee, was received and accepted with rdgret;' A sub-committee- was set up to meet on Fridav. 28th inst., to go into the matter of including a race or races for '•weight-for-age" in the next, autumn programme.
The Chairman -reported that the Course Committee had met on the Racecourse Reserve to confi r w'th Ms Worship the Mayor and delegates from the different sports bodies interested, with reference to the proposal to make several cricket grounds on the reserve. No action was taken, and the matter was deferred.
Additional acceptances for the Feilding races are Grattan 7."> in the Manga one Stakes and 1 Con the Shaughrauii 3.2 in the Fcilding Cup.
