SCOTT MEMORIAL.
BUST FOR CHRISTCHURCH ART GALLERY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Tuesday. In the New Zealand sportsmen's memorial to Captain Scott and his dead companions, which was inaugurated by the Referee, will be a bust of Captain Scott by Lady Scott, together with a tablet setting forth the names of Captain Scott's heroic companions on that last journey. The memorial will permanently remain in the Christchurch Art Gallery. Prior to leaving New Zealand, Lady Scott's brother, Lieutenant Bruce, R.N., accepted, on behalf of his sister, the. commission to .execute the bust, and the proposal will be placed before Lady Scott in due course of time. . Commander Evans, Lieutenant Pennell, Lieutenant Bruce, Lieutenant Rennick, and the other companions of the dead explorers were touched and pleased with the suggestion that Lady Scott should be asked'to execute the sportsmen's memorial. Lieutenant Bruce's- last words to the. editor of the Referee were: "It will be a labor of love."
