Paris, March 14. -There is a growing agitation among shopkeepers and dressmakers against foreign firms reproducing gowns, jewellery and furniture. M. Lepine, chief of police, has instructed the police to arrest anyone copying designs in shop windows or at race meetings, and to confiscate sketches and photographs. A LIGHTER RUN DOWN. New York, March 14. An unknown vessel ran down a steam lighter in Wiekoff Harbor. Nine lightermen were drowned. A MINE ACCIDENT. Capetown, Marck 14. Ileinrich Naujoks has been sentenced to thirteen years' imprisonment at Leipzig for selling plans of a German cruiser to foreign agents acting for France. FRENCH ROYALIST RIOT. Paris, 'March 14. Royalist students interfered with a meeting of Christian Socialists. Fifty persons were injured in the melee, some seriously. AWARD FOR SALVAGE. London, March 14. The Admiralty Court awarded £4300 to the owners of the steamer Glenloeby, and £ISOO to the officers, in connection with the salving of the Star of Australia. A DANGEROUS HAIR-WASH. London. March 14.
