AN ALLEGED GAMING-HOUSE.

Two detectives were subjected to a vigorous cross-examina-tion bv counsel for the defence. One admitted that he had no search warrant and no right to take away a pack of cards found there. Counsel also objected to the alleged collaboration by detectives in the preparation of their notes The. Magistrate, dismissed tin: charges against the defendants, who admittedly were not found on the premises, but were, stopped after they had left the house, and reserved judgment in the cases of Eager and Jarvis.
