THE ACCUSED'S IDENTITY. By Telegraph —Per Press Association. Auckland, Friday. "Robert Crugo, who was arrested in connection with the Tukapuna shooting, is the man who was admitted to twelve months' probation nearly a year ago for sending a threatening letter to "Ylr. J. J. Craig. THE ACCUSED REMAXDED. Auckland, Last Night. The condition of Skeates, who was severely injured in the shooting'affray j yesterday, shows some slight improvement. All the bullets havebeen located by tlie X-rays, and an operation will be performed to-morrow to extract the bullet from the unfortunate man's head. Tlanna is progressing very well. The revolver used in connection with the affray was found by the roadside near the scene of the shootine. Crago. who is alleged to have committed the shooting, was brought before the Court to-day and charged with attempted murder. He was remanded till Thursday. No application was made for bail.
