FEDERAL ACKNOWLEDGMENTS. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Christehurch, Last Night. Speaking at Lincoln last evening the Prime Minister read the following cablegram received from Australia in connection with the message from himself to the authorities on the occasion of the laying of the fonnilation stone of the capital city:—"Canberra, March 13. 1013. Prime Minister, Lincoln.—His Excellency the Governor-General joins the Commonwealth in expressing keen appreciation of your cordial greeting on the occasion of the laying of the foundation stone of the Federal capital city, and in reciprocating the good wishes. We hope ■that both Dominions will prosper side bv side in all things essential for their future welfare. The ceremony was a great success. His Excellency named the city 'Canberra.'—Andrew Fisher."
