Mr. Scott, secretary of the South' Island Dairy Associaion, thinks that a campaign should he started in Dunedin for correcting the present weak spot in the dairying industry, uameiv, the quality of the milk supply. The Agricultural Department will have to take more stringent measures; all the factories should adopt the Xorth Island plan of employing an official, paid for by factories. to go round and inspect machines, premises and utensils. The inferior quality of butter was traceable to home separation. Mr. Bolt and other leading dairymen have been very outspoken about this, and their contentions iiavo been proved up to the hilt.
