ROWING.
THE WAXGAXUI REGATTA. Wanganui, Thursday. The Wanganui regatta took place to-, day. Local clubs were well represented, but the entries were poor otherwise, the only outside crews being Waitara, Clifton and Wellington. The weather was very favorable and the racing as a Whole was fairly good. The results were: Maiden fours—Wanganui 1, Aramoho 2, Union 3. The only starters. Won by a foot. Senior fours—Union Xo. 1 1, Union No. 22. The only starters. Won by half a length. Maiden Sculls—R. Caldwell (Aramoho) 1, McKegney (Wanganui) 2, Slipper (Wanganui) 3.
Junior Fours—Union 1, Wellington 2 Aramoho 3. Wanganui also started. Won by a couple of lengths. . Senior Sculls—H. Sharpe (Union) 1 McDonald (Wanganui) 2. Stokes (Aramoho) also started.
Youths' Fours—After a great race, Union, Wanganni and Clifton finished practically together. Owing to a misunderstanding in tlip judging no decision was given. Tlip race will bo rowed tomorrow night, when Clifton will be uniible to compete. Junior Sculls—A. Sliarpo (Union) 1, Caldwell (Arainolio) 2. McKegncy (Wanganni) .'i. Banks (Wanganui) and Cain (Clifton) also started. Won by a couple of lengths. Junior Fours—Aramolio 1, Union 2. Tbe onlv starters. Won bv two and a half lengths.
Junior Fours—Best and Best BoatsUnion 1. Wellington 2. Aramolio 3. Wanganui also started. Won easily.
Maiden Double Sculls—Union 1, Aramolio 2. Wanganui also started. AYon bv a length.
