As the High School boys are holding their swimming sports, and as the Inglewood ground is otherwise engaged, no cup fixtures will he played this afteri noon. A scratch team of town players will play a match at Tikorangi against a country eleven, going by drag leaving the Union Bank corner at 11 o'clock. THE GROUND COMMITTEE. A meeting of cricketers was held in the Town Hall last night to further consider the question of ground accommodation. Mr. E. Whittle presided over an attendance of about a dozen. Mr. Bain stated that he had visited (,'e racecourse in company with the Mayor, representatives of the Racing Club and Coursing Club. The Mayor held out very little hope ot' any rearrangement of areas at the racecourse for the present year, but next year there is a probability that the Agricultural Society will be finding a fresh home, and then a -rearrangement may be possible. Under the circumstances it was decided to continue playing on the Sports Ground for another year. Messrs. Geo. Grey, Bain, Lash and Whittle were appointed a committee to meet other sports associations with a view to making mutual arrangements for grounds next year. The secretary was instructed to write to the Pukekura Park Committee and ask them to top the pines on the terraces. which would materially improve the light on the ground. THE SOUTH TARANAKI MATCH. Arrangements are well in hand for the North v. South Taranaki cricket match, which it is practically certain will take place here on Easter Monday. The secretary has been instructed to have a wicket prepared for the match, if possible, out of turf. Mr. Gudgeon is also deliberating over the selection of the team.
