ATHLETICS.
MIMJ—PI' REAR I'll E SPO KTS. Tlie .Miiiii-Pukearulme Sports Club is holding its annual meeting on Mr. Gordon (ilaxsford's beautiful grounds ;tt the Mimi oil Easter Monday. A very enthusiastic and capable set of officials luu'e been elected, and tliev are backed up by a strong committee of willing workers .so that the sports are bound to go off with a vim. A very interesting anil varied programme of events lias been drawn up including many novelties which cannot fail to amuse, and in the allocation of events the ladies have not been forgotten. The prizes are not large enough to attract the professional element:, but that is not what the committee are ca tei'ing for. The intention is to make it a pleasant picnic gathering at which residents of the district and their friends from surrounding districts can meet and fraternise, and also participate in the fun provided. The programme certainly covers this and the prizes given add an extra incentive to that friendly rivalry that is bound to be in evidence . i
