LOCAL GOVERNMENT REFORM. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, Monday. In the course of a. public address at His Majesty's Theatre to-night, Mr. lierries said that, without disclosing official secrets, he might refer to local government reform. The pith of the reform which was under consideration was ' that local bodies should bu given assured finance, for the reason that members sitting on these bodies were better acquainted with local than the Minister for I'ublic Works and his .officers. For the present the work of the instructors will be confined to the four training colleges and the holding of glasses for instruction, and such teachers who can be brought together in the four centres.
