NOTICE TO STRIKE. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright. London, February 25. Three thousand miners at Skelmcrsdale gave notice to strike unless nonunionists join the Federation. MIDLAND RAILWAY CRISIS. London, February 25. Williams, the railwaymen's secretary, says the crisis on the Midland Railway is serious, there being an overwhelming number in favor of the demand that tne Richardson case be made a test one, and if a strike ensues it will inevitably involve all the railways.
NEWSPAPER INTERVENTION. London, February 25. The Pall Mall Gazette urges the Midland Railway authorities to negotiate with the Railwavmen's Union regarding the Richardson ease. THE NORTHUMBERLAND MINERS. Received 26, 11.30 p.m. London, February 20. The Northumberland miners have asked the Miners' Federation executive what support it is prepared to give in the event of tiieir ballot favoring a strike against the three shifts system, which is the outcome of the Eight Hours Act. Mr. Strieker, secretary of the Miners' Association, declares that a national strike is out of the question, as the strike funds are depleted. The Federation might give sufficient support to keep Northumberland on strike.
