WAIHI MINERS' HALL.
AGAIN CHANGES POSSESSION. ■ By Telegraph—Press Association. Waihi, Last Night. The Minors' Union Hall has passed through another stage of its eventful history. It will be remembered that immediately after the tragic occurrence in the vicinity of the hall the premises were entered and taken possession of by a number of financial members of the old union, who were also members of the Arbitration Union. Their possession lasted for a week, and was terminated by the unexpected re-entry of prominent members of the old union, who opened the doors while the hall was empty. Since that time the members of the union have occupied the premises, the secretary (Mr. Franklin) holding the keys and using the building forthe old union's purposes. Yesterday afternoon eight financial members of the old union, but who are out of the books of the new union, walked into the hall to pay their contributions, while the secretary was there. The secretary insisted on the payment of all levies due to the old union, as well as the current contributions. To this the members objected, expressing their willingness to pay the ordinary contributions, but nothing more. As the secretary stood firm in the matter, no payments were made, and as the members decided that they had the right to the use of the hall, they took possession, and are now its occupants.
