THE MASTERTON Fl-NOTION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Masterton, Last Night. The Masterton Show opened to-day in glorious weather. There was a large attendance and the stock exhibits were equal to the best in the Dominion, Fat cattle formed a feature, and the judge; expressed the opinion that they were tire best south of the Line. There was also a very fine exhibition of .sheep. Championship results:—Lincolns—ram. W. Perry; ewe, A. C. Anderson. English Leicester*— —ram, S. R. Lancaster; "ewe, S. R. Lancaster. Border Leieesters—ram and ewe, J. Douthaite. Romney-Marsh —ram, Gray Bros.; ewes, W. Perry. Southdowns—ram, A. J. Stonewigg; ewe.Nelson Bros. Shropsh ires—ram. W. 1 Rayner; ewe, W. Rayner. In the farm- i ers' classes honors were divided between > Shaw and Son and McKenzie Bros. Tn ': the freezing classes McKenzie Bros., J. .' Strang, W. H. Beetham, W. Perry, W. ] Howard, Booth, H. The weather prospects for People's Day are exceedingly bright, and there-is every promise of a record crowd. Tn , the dairy produce the Bunnythorpe Dairy Company took prizes for butter and the Parkdale Dairy Company for cheese.
