STREETS IMPROVEMENT AND WATERWORKS EXTENSION SPECIAL LOAN OF £42,000. fTHE Council of the Borough of New Plymouth hereby gives public notice that it proposes to borrow, by way of JBpecial loan, the sum of £42,000. The particular purposes for which the loan is required are: — (a) £II,BOO to provide additions to, extensions and improvements to water-works (within or without the Borough) to acquire nection therewith J;infli»iAw inents, rights and appurtenanac and machinery: and, for any other purposes incidental or in relation thereto respectively. (1)} £30,200 to form and improve generally the streets and footways, to purchase necessary machinery and plant, and construct new bridges and approaches thereto. (c) The sum proposed to be borrowed for such purposes is £42,000, at a rate not exceeding 5 per cent. with a sinking fund of \' 2 p?r cent, additional.

{d) The proposed security is a special rate of T'/od in the £ on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property within the Borough, and it is proposed to repay the money in twenty years from the Ist day of Ajril, 1913. by means of the sinking fund and otherwise. (e» It is proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of rai.->iug the loan and the interest for the first year.
