THE KTXfI'S SYMPATHY. Loudon. February 11. Tlif King telegraphed to Lord Curzon. president of tin l Royal Ccogranhical Society, an expression of bis grief at Captain Scott's disaster. He sympathised with the loss to science and discovery.
The. news caused a sensation in the House of Commons. Lady Ellison MacArtney. wife of the Covernor-elect of Tasmania, O&ptain Scott's sister, broke the news to her mother.
